Wilma J. Shanks, 76, of Sioux City died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004, at Indian Hills Nursing and Rehab Center following a brief illness.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Merrill Muller of Wesley United Methodist Church officiating. There will be a private interment in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present, at the funeral home.

Wilma J. Shanks was born July 10, 1928, in Sioux City, the daughter of Wilbur A. and Katherine G. (Wickey) Cope. She was a lifelong Sioux City resident

She married Calvin M. Shanks on Aug. 27, 1983, in Sioux City. Wilma was a waitress at several local restaurants for over 20 years.

She was of the Methodist faith. Wilma loved her flower gardens.

Survivors include her husband, Calvin; a stepdaughter, Kelly Deen, and her husband, Jerry, of Caney, Kan.; a brother, Clarence "Bud" Bogenreif, of Omaha, Neb.; a granddaughter, Amie Neustrom, of Sioux Falls, S.D.; a great-granddaughter, Katie Neustrom, of Sioux Falls; three step-grandchildren, Jamie Bergman and her husband, Mike, of Coffeyville, Kan., Casey Dominguez and her husband, Roy, of Caney, Kan. and Jeremiah Rasmussen and his fiancee, Heidi Heck, of Sioux City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Susan Booker; and her stepfather, Clarence Bogenreif.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Deen, Mike Bergman, Roy Dominguez and Jeremiah Rasmussen.

Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Siouxland.
