Harm Andrew Kruithoff, 87, of Sioux City, died Wednesday, January 12, 2000 in Sioux City.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, at St. James United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Kenneth Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel.

Mr. Kruithoff was born November 27, 1912, in Sioux City, the son of Andrew Harm and Olive (Kelly) Kruithoff. He attended school through the 10th grade. He lived in South Sioux City until the age of 18, and then he moved to Sioux City.

He married Irene Harris on May 23, 1936 in Vermillion, S.D.

He was self-employed for many years and then he worked for Klinger Construction for a short time.

He was a member of the Carpenters Union 948 in Sioux City. He was a former member of the Eagles.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and helping people move.

Survivors include his wife of Sioux City, four sisters, Olive and her husband Harold Rexroat, of DesMoines, Minnie and her husband, Lloyd Steeg of Webster, Wisconsin and Colleen Huff and Violet Guillaume, both of Sioux City, three brothers and their wives, Kenneth and Louise of Sioux City, Andrew and Alice of Sioux City and Hans and Phyllis of Merced, California and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Carl and a sister, Opal Kruithoff.

Pallbearers will be Marvin and Richard Stone, Bill and Bob Harris and Larry and Dennis Guillaume.
