Margaret A. Rickert, 84, of Wahoo, Nebraska, formerly of Sioux City, died Wednesday, January 12, 2000 at Wahoo Nursing Home.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Sioux City Carmelite Monastary, with the Rev. Paul Louis Arts, of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present 3 to 4:30 p.m. and from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and the Catholic Daughters of America and the Carmelite Guild Board, will have a rosary at 4 p.m. and there will be a parish vigil service at 7 p.m. all at Larkin Morningside Funeral Home.

Mrs. Rickert was born July 12, 1915 in Chicago, the daughter of George and Agnes (Murphy) Wean. She moved to Sioux City as a child and lived here until moving to Wahoo four years ago. She graduated from Cathedral High School in 1936 and attended Briar Cliff College.

She married Daniel Rickert on May 1, 1948 in Sioux City. He died March 29, 1992 in Sioux City.

She was employed with Salon Francois as a makeup artist. She also worked as a makeup artist for Sioux City Community Theater, and she taught piano.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters of America- Ave Maria Court. She was a former Carmelite Guild Board member.

She was also active with the Girl Scouts of America and was on the 4-H Advisory Council and had received the Honorary 4-H Award.

Survivors include three daughters and their husbands; JoAnn and George Janning of Keaney, Nebraska, Judy and Dennis Dye of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Mary and Tim Lorenz of Wahoo; seven grandchildren, Katey, Paul and Stephen Janning, Daniel, Edward and Bridget Dye and Daniel Lorenz and a brother, Lawrence Wean of Cincinnati.

Pallbearers will be her seven grandchildren.
