James P. Trometer, 49, of Fresno, California, formerly of Sioux City, died Saturday, December 25, 1999 in Fresno following a brief illness.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City, with the Rev. A.T. Washington officiating. There will be no visitation. Local arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Mr. Trometer was born November 2, 1950, in Sioux City, the son of Lawrence T. and Teresa G. (LaScala) Trometer. He was raised in Sioux City and graduated from Central High School. Following high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served for 20 years.

He married Aileen Dayanan on February 24, 1986 in the Philippines.

Survivors include his wife, three brothers, Larry of Enosburg, Vt., Don and his wife, Cheri of Sioux City and Mike and his wife, Sandy of Elk Point, S.D., a sister and her husband, Laurie and Don Peterson of Sioux City, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
