1979

Verona May Luchsinger Lundeen of Lake Park, was born to Jacob and Anna Barbara Saxer Luchsinger at Rock Island, Illinois on December 13, 1898. She attended school at Hornick, Iowa.

On February 5, 1927 she was united marriage to Earl Lundeen at Ticonic, Iowa and to this union two children were born, Mrs. Emmet (Wanda) Trunnell of Ruchmore, Minnesota and Mrs. Curtis (Anita) Kuehl of Lake Park, Iowa.

Before her marriage, Verona clerked in a store at Hornick, Iowa. They farmed for 15 years in Monona County after her marriage and in 1942 they moved to a farm in Osceola County and in 1945 they moved to their farm southwest of Lake Park. She was a member of the Excelsior Methodist Church.

She was baptized on April 1, 1917 at St. John’s Evangelical Church at German City, Iowa. After her marriage to Earl, they joined the Methodist Church at Ticonic in 1931. She taught Sunday School for many years and belonged to U.M.W.

Mrs. Lundeen passed away on October 3, 1979 at the Worthington Regional Hospital.

She is survived by her husband, Earl of Lake Park, daughters, Mrs. Emmet Trunnell of Rushmore, Minnesota and Mrs. Curtis Kuehl of Lake Park; 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Mrs. Lou (Nellie) Stanton of Sioux City and Mrs. W.F. (Marie) Skinner of Hornick and one brother, Harry Luchsinger of Hornick, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, John, Walter and Milford.
