Marilee Evans dies Dec. 4
1978

Mrs. Marilee Evans of Sioux City who was the Woodwind instructor at Morningside College died December 4th from a lengthy illness. Mrs. Evans the former Marilee Haddock was born October 18, 1935 at Sioux City to J. Bruce and Georgette Haddock. She married Richard Evans June 1, 1958 at Hornick.

She was a member of the First Unitarian Universalist Church. Mrs. Evans has played with the Monohan Post band and with the Houston Civic Symphony.

She is survived by the widower, a son, Jay Bruce and a daughter Wendy both at home and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Bruce Haddock of Hornick and 2 brothers, Ronald of Omaha and Jon of Climbing Hill.

A memorial service was conducted Thursday morning at 10:30 a.m. at Eppley Auditorium on the Morningside College Campus with Rev. Michael Schuler of the First Unitarian Church and Dr. Carrol McLaughlin at Morningside College, officiated.

Burial was in the Willow Twp. Cemetery at Holly Springs.

Casket-bearers were Lorna Gilbert, Leo Kucinski, Bob Loury, Rudy Daniels, Glen Houpt, Jim Boise, Tom Gilbert and Lauri Thomas.
