Elsie Marie Perrin, 93, of Sioux City died Friday January 14, 2000 at Holy Spirit Retirement Home in Sioux City, following a brief illness.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Holy Spirit Retirement Home Chapel, with the Rev. Gerald Hartz, chaplain at Holy Spirit Retirement Home, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel.

Mrs. Perrin was born August 18, 1906 in Shelbyville, Illinois, the daughter of Aaron Bud and Sarah Mary Magdeline (Strohl) Shuff. She moved to this area with her family. She graduated from Ellis Beauty School in Sioux City as a beautician.

She married Claude William Perrin on February 14, 1929 in Sioux City. He preceded her in death on May 19, 1964.

She was a former member of First United Methodist Church.

She was self-employed for 55 years before retiring. She was also employed at Nelson-Berger Funeral Service as a beautician for many years.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Robert E. and Carole of Sioux City; four granddaughters; Denise (Perrin) Gleiser, Bobbi Jo Perrin, Barbara Cribb and Julie Natoli, six great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Joretta Perrin of Sioux City; two sisters, Lucy Hofman of Vermillion, S.D. and Ester Buran of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, three brothers, Warren Shuff of International Falls, Minnesota, Dale Shuff of Rockford, Illinois and Dean Shuff of Bothell, Washington and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Claude Jr., a grandson, Scott, a great-granddaughter, Amber Lynn, three sisters, Oka Elizabeth Shuff, Rosella Huetson, Velma Gobel and a brother, Wayne Shuff.

Memorials may be given in her name to Holy Spirit Retirement Home.
