Bernard A. “Bunnie” Hurley, 71, of Sioux City died Saturday, January 1, 2000, at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Gerald Hartz officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 to 8 p.m.; today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Hurley was born April 8, 1928 in Minneapolis, the son of Archie and Verna (Adams) Hurley. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard.

He had lived in Indian Wells, California, for several years before moving to Chicago. He moved to Sioux City in 1996. He owned several by-products throughout the United States.

He enjoyed golfing and owned several race horses.

Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl Kunkel of Scottsdale, Arizona, a sister, Dee Dee Roussin of Sioux City, a granddaughter, Crissy Kunkel and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three children.

Pallbearers will be Fred Mersch, Larry Larson, John Sailer, David Willias, Dan Brewer and Paul Malloy.
