Funeral services for Harold W. Christman, 47, who died at his home near Smithland, Tuesday, October 14, where held at 2 p.m., Friday in the Smithland Methodist Church with Rev. Lawrence Murphy of Sioux City officiating.

Myron Armour, accompanied by Mrs. S.M. Hackett, sang, “Beyond the Sunset” and “The Lord’s Prayer”.

Pallbearers were Earl Johnson, Clem Claus, Harry Myrtue, Earl Hines, Artin Riddle and Don Thomason. Interment was in the Smithland Cemetery under the direction of the Willman Funeral Home of Rodney.

Mrs. Carl Callaghan and Mrs. Gertrude Cory were in charge of the flowers.

Mr. Christman, son of Mrs. Eva Christman and the late William Christman was born September 27, 1911 at Smithland and had lived on the Same farm all his life except for four years, when he resided near Bronson.

He was a 1929 graduate of Smithland High School and a member of the Smithland Methodist Church. The past two years he had worked with the Soil Conservation Service. At the time of his death he was Township Clerk.

Survivors include the widow, his mother, Mrs. Eva Christman of Smithland; three sons, William of Sioux City, Clint and Craig, both at home, three daughters, Sandra, Beverly and Carol all at home, and ?? grandchildren.
