Paul S. Minor, 87, of North Sioux City, passed away Friday, Sept. 1, 2017.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Online condolences may be directed to meyerbroschapels.com.

Paul was born the son of Samuel and Pauline (Rawlings) Minor on Oct. 9, 1929, in Nebraska City, Neb. The family moved to Union County, S.D., in 1935. Paul graduated from Jefferson High in 1947 and then enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was very proud of his military service.

Paul married Margarete Klau on Dec. 8, 1951. The couple had four children. Paul held various jobs over the years which included farming, trucking, and the packinghouse.

He was a volunteer firefighter for 16 years. He also served on the Sioux Flood Project Board and was involved in the Siouxland Gem and Mineral Society for many years.

Paul is survived by his wife, Margarete of North Sioux City; two sons, Harry (Barb) Minor of North Sioux City, and Jeffrey Minor of Sioux City; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Hans Richard; one daughter, Christel; and one sister, Kathleen.
