Miles R. Olsen, 101, of Sergeant Bluff, formerly of North Sioux City, passed away Friday, Aug. 18, 2017, at Embassy Healthcare Community in Sergeant Bluff.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2039 S. St. Aubin St., Sioux City. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff.

Miles Robert Olsen was born on May 26, 1916, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the son of Leo and Laura Olsen.

He married Elaine Fulton of Sioux City on Sept. 2, 1944. Miles worked in construction most of his life with Klinger & Chris Hansen Construction Company.

He was a hard worker and always put his wife and children first. He loved to tinker in his shop, ride his bicycle and especially loved watching the squirrels at his feeders. He was an amazing husband and father, always putting others first. He has a zest for life and will be missed by his family and friends.

Miles is survived by his wife, Elaine; three daughters, Vicki and Howard Wick of Madison, S.D., Luella Stone of Sioux City, and Bobbie and Jerry Logemann of Sergeant Bluff; one son, Mike and LaDonna Olsen of Everly, Iowa; 18 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Hazel Clarice; a son, Patrick Olsen; four brothers; and two sisters.
