George Sullivan Jr., 71, of Allen, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2017, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Dixon, Neb., with the Revs. David Liewer and Andy Sohm officiating and assisted by Deacon Dennis Knudsen. Burial will be in South Creek Catholic Cemetery, Ponca, Neb. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, with a vigil service at 7 p.m., all at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Hasemann Funeral Home in Wayne, Neb.

George Daniel Sullivan Jr. was born on Aug. 15, 1945, in Ponca, to George Sr. and Thelma (Harrison) Sullivan. He grew up in Martinsburg, Neb., and lived in Allen the rest of his life. He attended Allen Public School and served in the Air National Guard.

George married Diane Lux on Jan. 24, 1970 in Laurel, Neb. He was a cattle feeder at the Dixon Feed Lot for 46 years.

George enjoyed time with his family, grandkids, and friends at their cabin near Newcastle, Neb. He never met a stranger, and smiles and joy followed him everywhere he went.

George is survived by his wife, Diane; children, Robb (Becky) Sullivan of Bronson, Iowa, Bill (Christy) Sullivan of South Sioux City, Lisa (Brad) Berner of Summerville, S.C., Michael (Kim) Sullivan of Bay City, Mich., and Daniel Sullivan of Allen; 21 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Sandie Bennett (Duane Lutt), Connie (Brad) Dangberg, and Patty (Larry) Grashorn, all of Wayne, Nancy (Denny) Junck of Carroll, Neb., Gary (Sharon) Sullivan, Steve (Sandy) Sullivan, Bob (Julie) Sullivan, and Randy (Laura) Sullivan, all of Martinsburg; and mother-in-law, Marjorie Lux of Laurel.

George was preceded in death by his parents, George Sr. and Thelma Sullivan; father-in-law, Lawrence Lux; sister-in-law, Susan Fendrich; and brother-in-law, Donnie Lux.
