Gregory Lee Deman, 63, of Dakota Dunes, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2017, surrounded by his family, following a brief illness.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Cathedral of the Epiphany Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, with a rosary at 6:45 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at St. Michael Catholic Church. Greg was born on Jan. 23, 1954, in Sioux City, the son of Andrew and Helen (Atterbury) Deman. Greg grew up in South Sioux City, and attended St. Michael's Grade School in South Sioux City and Sacred Heart High School in Emerson, Neb. before graduating from Heelan High School in 1972. Greg graduated from Briar Cliff College in 1976.

On Nov. 25, 1978, Greg married Francine M. Kukula in Sioux City. Greg had a long history with Bekins Moving & Storage/Distribution Center as well as various other companies.

He was a long time member of St. Michael Catholic Church and enjoyed his involvement in many Catholic and community organizations over the years.

Survivors include his wife, Francine of Dakota Dunes; his children, Rev. Shane Deman of Sioux City, Christopher Deman of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Catie Miltenberger and her husband, Cody of Omaha; a grandson, Cruz Miltenberger of Omaha; and his sister, Mary Ann Worrell of Palm Springs, Calif.

Greg was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother-in-law, Robert Worrell.

In lieu of flowers, Masses intentions may be offered in Greg's name or memorials may be given to Bishop Heelan High School.
