26 January 2000Alberta M. Holdenried, 93, of Sioux City, died Monday, January 24, 2000 at Sunrise Retirement Community.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Larkin Morningside Funeral Home, with the Rev. Michael T. Larkin, nursing home chaplain, officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Holdenried was born August 12, 1906 in Sioux City, the daughter of David J. and Ethel May (Coats) Barrett.
She married Howard E. Holdenried on February 12, 1925 in Sioux City. He died July 15, 1991, in Sioux City.
She was employed briefly as a nurse’s aide, but mostly she was a homemaker.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Henry J. and Frances of Sioux City; two grandchildren, Howard J. Holdenried and Trudy Bauman; five great-grandchildren; a great-great granddaughter and a sister of Rockford, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Jean Holdenried.
Pallbearers will be Howard and Wesley Holdenried, Ken and C.J. Bauman and Jon Moberg.
