Robert M. Edlun, 85, of Sioux City died Friday, January 21, 2000, at Countryside Retirement Home.

Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. today at Nelson-Berger Morningside Chapel, with the Rev. Dick Dahle of First Lutheran Church officiating. Burial of the cremains will be at a later date. Visitation with the family present will be one hour prior to the service today at the funeral home.

Mr. Edlun was born December 22, 1914, in Sioux City. He attended Sioux City Schools.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1943 to 1945. His awards and decorations include the American Theater Ribbon, EAME Theater Ribbon and the Victory Medal.

He married Grace Strand in Sioux City. He was employed with Iowa Public Service for many years as a manager of the insurance department.

He was a member of First Lutheran Church, Scottish Rite Bodies, Sioux City Consistory and Morningside Masonic Lodge 615 A.F. & A.M.

Survivors include his wife; a son and his wife, Bruce and Natalie of Seattle, Washington and a grandson, Benjamin Edlun.

He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas.
