Robert "Bob" C. Pedersen, 80, of Sioux City, formerly of South Sioux City, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at his residence.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City. Visitation with the family will be 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Bob was born on Aug. 24, 1936, in rural Jackson, Neb., the son of Rasmus and Carrie (Dyer) Pedersen. He attended South Sioux City High School and worked at Chesterman's for 41 years.

Bob and Elaine Sappingfield were married on Jan. 25, 1955 at Boals Methodist Church in South Sioux City. After his retirement from Chesterman's, he worked briefly at Sara Lee, and was also the janitor at the Methodist Church for several years.

He was a member of the Sioux City Men's Bowling Association and was an avid bowler. He loved to fish and enjoyed camping, woodworking, baking, Husker football, NASCAR and NHRA drag racing.

Survivors include his wife, Elaine Pedersen of Sioux City; children, Robin Johnson of Longview, Wash., and Bob Pedersen Jr. of South Sioux City; five granddaughters, Brooke Pedersen (Joe Felix), Amber (Scott) Ellison, Kady Medina, Jessica (Korey) Moffatt and Tory Hartman; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Carol Veenker.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rasmus and Carrie Pedersen; a daughter, Dana Cooper; and brothers, Orville and Stanley Pedersen.
