Henry J. Seaton

Henry J. Seaton, son of Alva and Effie Seaton, was born July 4, 1913 at Smithland and died at his home in Sioux City Wednesday, February 16, 1972. He had reached the age of 58 years, 7 months and 12 days.

Mr. Seaton moved to Sioux City with his parents from Smithland. He married Letha Hansen April 22, 1955 at Laverne, Minn.

He had been employed by the Sioux City Water Department for 20 years and was a member of the Riverside Lutheran Church, Aerie 2492 Fraternal Order of Eagles of South Sioux City and Local 212 Municipal Employees Union.

He was preceded in death by his father and one brother.

He is survived by his wife; his mother, Mrs. Effie Seaton of South Sioux City; four brothers: Orthel of Choteau, Montana, Chris of Lakewood, California, Willis of Detroit, Michigan and Paul of Herrick, Illinois; five sisters: Mrs. Birdelin Peterson, Mrs. Pauline Smith and Mrs. Inez Smith, all of South Sioux City, Mrs. Audrey Snow of Pueblo, Colorado and Mrs. Ada Larson of Billings, Montana.

Funeral services were held Saturday, February 19, 1972 at 2:0 0 p.m. at the Riverside Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul Ofstedel officiating. Burial was in Floyd Park cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Art McConahie, George Holmes, Claude Smith, Terrance McElroy, John Knutsen and Parker Knutsen.
