Dorothy M. Schumann

Funeral services for Mrs. Fred Schumann, 65, of Anthon were held Friday afternoon at Trinity Lutheran Church in Anthon with Rev. Robert Snyder officiating. Mrs. Schumann died Tuesday, March 28, 1967, at a Sioux City hospital after being seriously ill for two weeks. Burial was in Midway Cemetery under direction of Walter Funeral Home.

Dorothy Matilda Schumann, daughter of Michael and Mary Eichhorn, was born June 21, 1901, in Woodbury County near Holly Springs. She came to the Anthon vicinity when a young girl and spent the rest of her life here. She married Fred Schumann on February 18, 1921, at Holly Springs. They were the parents of two daughters and one son. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Anthon. She was also a member of the Ladies Aid and the Lutheran Women's Missionary League and sang in the church choir.

Survivors include her husband, Fred of Anthon, two daughters, Mrs. Dale (Rosella) Behrens of Sioux City and Miss Velda Schumann of Woodward; one son, Verlin Schumann of Sioux City, seven grandchildren, one great granddaughter, two sisters, Mrs. John (Elsie) Larrew of Sioux City and Mrs. Leo (Marjorie) Schumann of Mapleton, two brothers, Herman Eichhorn of Sioux City and John Eichhorn of Anthon. She was preceded by her parents, one brother, four sisters and one grandson.
