David Dean "Hippi" Mogren, 65, of LaPrairie, formerly of Sioux City, passed away Friday, June 2, 2017, at his home in Minnesota.

Memorial services, with military rites, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 24, at Triumphant Life Church, 1307 County Rd. 440, in Bovey, Minn. The Rev. Todd Block will officiate. Visitation will be 1 p.m. until service time Saturday, June 24, at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Rowe Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Grand Rapids, Minn. David was born in 1952, to Dale and Jean Mogren, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the oldest of six children. He graduated from Central High School in Sioux City, and then attended college at the University of Minnesota-Waseca.

David met the love of his life, Jean Miller in 1996, and they were united in marriage in 2005. David worked as a landscaper in the summers and worked odd jobs in the off season.

David was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and loved golfing, gardening and fishing.

David is survived by his wife, Jean; daughter, Stacey Perrington of Grand Rapids; son, Sean (Tina) Miller of Cohasset, Minn.; mother, Jean Mogren of Sioux City; three sisters, Mary Jo Emerson of Newala, Okla., Janet (Joe) Yukich of Pickering, Ontario, Canada, and Lorraine Stedman of Sioux City; two brothers, Richard Mogren of San Antonio, Texas, and John Mogren of Story City; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his father, Dale, and his brother-in-law, Ralph Waldo "Wally" Emerson III.
