Walter E. Koster

Walter E. Koster, 68, of Correctionville died Friday, November 4, 1988, upon arrival at a Sioux City hospital after being stricken at home. Services were Monday, November 7, 10:30 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Correctionville with Rev. Robert Bayer officiating.

Burial was in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Midway, under direction of Walter Funeral Home in Anthon.

Mr. Koster was born November 23, 1919, at Midway. He attended country school in the Midway area. He farmed in the Pierson and Correctionville area. He was a musician and played in various bands. He married Margaret Hartman on April 10, 1951, in Sioux City. The couple moved into Correctionville in 1985. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Correctionville.

Survivors include his wife, three sisters, Mrs. Joe (Clara) Gotto, Elsie Suhr and Eldora Koster, all of Correctionville. He was preceded by his parents, Henry William and Katherina (Jacobsen) Koster, two sons, James Walter and Ward William, three brothers and two sisters. Burial was in Saint Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Midway, Woodbury County, Iowa, USA.
