Mary Kathleen "Kathie" Hill, 70, of Sioux City, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2017.

Together we will celebrate Kathie's life at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 315 Hamilton Blvd., Sioux City, followed by a luncheon. A baptism for Kathie's grandson, Christian, will precede the service at 11:30 a.m. All are welcome to attend.

Kathie began her life journey on March 23, 1947, the first of two daughters born through Margaret and Daniel Murphy. At the age of 16, Kathie married the man with whom she was destined to spend her life, her soulmate, Ron Hill. Together they had three children. Kathie's unquestionable purpose of this life was to be a mother and wife. When she would see a child in need, she would move heaven and earth to help. This was not a choice, it was driven from deep in her heart. She fulfilled her loving purpose with grace and humor.

Kathie shared her life with her "rock," Ronnie Hill. She knew from the day they married it was forever. She spoke the words more than once, "He has always taken care of me." Ronnie took care of her to the end, 54 years of loving marriage. Even in her last words, her priority was present, spoken before she went to bed the night she died, "Give me a kiss, I love you. Ronnie." That night, July 11, 2017, she passed in her sleep. It is because of the deep faith Kathie embraced, that makes her passing a blessing; a birth if you will.

Kathie leaves behind her husband, Ron Hill; one sister, Tracie Zalis; three children, Brian (Lonnie) Hill, Rhonda Hill (and her honey, Chris), and Ron Hill; 13 grandchildren, Alex, Aubrey, Colby, Elysia, Tashia, Clay, Felicia, Destin, Kieshia, Shonda, Brandon, Michael and Katie; 12 great-grandchildren, Esperanza, Esmeralda, Christian, Cameron, Kyscen, Ameriannah, Gary, Xander, Caleb, Thea, Kylah and Nora; additional loved ones; and the rest of you.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; mother-in-law, Mildred DeHarty; nephew, Ronnie Bell; and niece, Holly West-Howard.
