Paul H. Patterson, 84, of Sioux City, passed away Friday, July 14, 2017, at a Sioux City hospital.

A celebration of life service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, Hamilton Boulevard, with friends and family sharing stories. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be given at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Paul H. Patterson was born on Oct. 20, 1932, in Sioux City, the son of Charles and Marie (Andersen) Patterson. Paul attended high school in Sioux City and graduated from the University of South Dakota.

Paul married Janice Kingston on Sept. 7, 1957, in Sioux City. They had two daughters, Lori and Amy. He was employed with the Social Security Administration for more than 40 years before his retirement.

During his younger years, Paul enjoyed playing baseball and fast pitch softball. Later he coached girls softball with daughter, Lori. He loved golfing, spending time at the cabin, socializing with the boys, and bowling, but most of all spending time with his family. Mr. Patterson was a member of Central Baptist Church.

Paul is survived by his wife, Janice; daughters, Lori and her husband, Marty of Sioux City, and Amy and her husband, Brian of Jewell, Iowa; one brother, Clifton Patterson and his wife, Shelia of Sacramento, Calif.; two sisters, Eileen Bolhouse and her husband, David of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Karen Burns and her husband, Don of Fremont, Neb.; two grandchildren, Christopher and Mackenzie; and two step-grandchildren, Dana and Devin.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents.
