Caroline (Bauer) Trammell, 67, a Sioux City native and direct descendant of Chief war Eagle, died of a brain tumor Saturday, March 14, 1998, at her home in Tishomingo, Oklahoma.

Services and burial were held Sunday, March 15, in Teller Cemetery at Tishomingo. The Rev. Perry Crisp officiated. Corbin Funeral Home of Tishomingo was in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Trammell was born July 16, 1930 in Sioux City, the daughter of Alvin Joseph and Alice Cora (Conger) Bauer.

She attended schools in Sioux City and received a practical nursing degree from Southern Oklahoma Area Vo-Tech in Ardmore, Oklahoma.

She married James William McPeek in 1950 in Sioux City. They were divorced in 1958. She married Russell Trammell May 5, 1960 in Texas.

Mrs. Trammell had lived in Oklahoma for about 30 years. She was a licensed practical nurse at the Johnston County Hospital at Tishomingo for 23 years.

Survivors include seven sons, Kenneth William McPeek of Los Angeles, Michael McPeek of Sioux City, Gerald McPeek of St. Charles, Mo., Russell Jr. and Oscar Trammell of Tishomingo, Curtis Trammell of Chicago and Shawn Trammell of Madill, Oklahoma; four daughters, Caroline Joy Boetger of Sioux City, Mary Maxine Trammell and Melissa Holt, both of Tishomingo and Linda Bouldin of Dallas, Texas; a sister, Mary Alice Ramona Bauer of Tishomingo; 19 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a brother, Alvin Bauer Jr.
