Robert E. Bedlington, 84, formerly of Sioux City, died Monday, March 16, 1998 in Overland Park, Kansas.

Services were held Wednesday, March 18, at Muehlebach Funeral Home in Kansas City, Missouri. The Rev. Robert Murphy officiated. Entombment was in Mount Mausoleum at Kansas City.

Mr. Bedlington was born September 7, 1913, in Sioux City, the son of Robert and Amelia (Figi) Bedlington. He graduated from Central High School in 1931.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a retired clothing manufacturer’s representative.

He was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Kansas City.

Survivors include four daughters, Laurie Bedlington of Kansas City, Nancy Bedlington and her husband, Dr. Robert Elkins of Overland Park, Dr. Martha Bedlington of Seattle, Washington and Robin Bedlington of Washington, D.C.; a sister and her husband, Ruth and Robert Kennedy of Sioux City and two granddaughters, Anne and Kathryn Elkins.

Memorials may be directed to either St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Kansas City, Missouri or the Foundation Fighting Blindness in Baltimore, Md.
