Hersal Henry Golliday, 67, of Sioux City died Friday, March 20, 1998 at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Boniface Catholic Church with the Rev. Marvin Boes officiating. Burial with military rites conducted by the Iowa Air National Guard 185th Fighter Wing will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. today with the family present and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m. at the Larkin Northside Funeral Home.

Mr. Golliday was born September 17, 1930 in Gilson, Illinois, the son of Robert P. and Lucy (Meck) Golliday. He was raised and attended school in Burlington, Iowa. He married Violet P.D. Williams on October 4, 1942, Margate, England. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1950 to 1954 after which he joined the National Guard. He lived in Spokane, Washington before moving to Sioux City. He was employed by the Iowa Air National Guard 185th Fighter Wing for 3t5 years as a parachute rigger. He was a member of V.F.W. Post 1973 and American Legion Post 662.

Survivors include his wife; five daughters and their husbands, Terese and Douglas Millage, Elizabeth and Garry Dicus, and Julie and William Hansen, all of Sioux City, Jacqueline and Gary Goodrich of Maple Grove, Minnesota and Sherrie and Mark Wolterman of Danbury, Iowa; his mother of Muscatine, Iowa; 10 grandchildren, Natasha Dicus, Damian and Nicholas Dicus, Monty, Tiffany, and Brandon Goodrich, Kent Fredricksen, Tyler Hansen and 2 additional grandchildren; two sisters, Charlotte and her husband, Rev. Clifford Brown of Muscatine and Shirley and her husband, William Schaffner of Jefferson City, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Willimetta Golliday of Burlington; two brothers, Robert e. of Sioux City, Frank and his wife, Norma of Oklahoma City, and an adopted brother, Everett Christiansen of Sergeant Bluff.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Lavern “Red” Golliday.

Pallbearers will be Garry Dicus, Damian Dicus, Nicholas Dicus, Steve Fredricksen, William Hansen and Rick Dicus.
