SIOUX CITY | Amanda Lynn Anderson, 32, of Sioux City, died Saturday, May 13, 2017, at a local hospital.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life gathering will be 4 p.m., May 23, at the Anderson Dance Pavilion at Chris Larsen Park in Sioux City. This is a potluck gathering, so please bring a dish or drinks to share. A second memorial gathering will be Wednesday, May 24, from noon to 6 p.m., at Spring Lake Park in Cherokee, Iowa. Amanda Lynn, daughter of George and Dawny (Privatte) Harvey, was born Nov. 6, 1984, in Fairfield, California. At an early age, Amanda's family moved to Onawa, Iowa. She attended school in Onawa and then received her GED at Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City. Amanda had worked in the photo center at Walmart and had been a waitress.

On June 5, 2010, Amanda married Gene Anderson at Stone State Park in Sioux City.

Amanda enjoyed collecting butterflies, frogs and making bracelets.

Amanda is survived by her husband, Gene of Sioux City; two brothers, Keith Harvey of Sioux City, and Sheldon Wilson of Manhattan, Kansas; paternal grandmother, Shizue Harvey of Okinawa, Japan; aunts; uncles; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and paternal grandfather, Larry Harvey.
