SIOUX CITY | Daniel Michael "Dan" Harrison of Keller, Texas, formerly of Sioux City, passed away on April 21, 2017, after a long fight with leukemia.

Dan was born on June 26, 1958, in Sioux City, to Carl and Nancy (Vondrak) Harrison. He was baptized into Christ on July 13, 1958 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Lawton, Iowa, and was confirmed in 1972. Dan became an Eagle Scout in May 1974, where he attained the Order of the Arrow.

He graduated from Sioux City East High School in 1976. He earned a bachelor's in economics and finance from Iowa State University in 1981, where he met his wife, Dena.

Dan and Dena were married on April 24, 1982, and raised two daughters, Alexa and Christine. Dan was a dedicated career man, working various positions in accounting and finance at GTE, Verizon, and TXU Energy.

Dan led a full life. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, woodworking, and classic auto restoration.

Dan is survived by his wife, Dena (Moore) Harrison; two daughters, Alexa and Jason Maloney of Tulsa, Okla., and Christine Harrison and her fiance, Christopher DeWitt of El Paso, Texas; parents, Carl and Nancy Harrison of Hinton, Iowa; a brother, Rev. Matthew and Kathy Harrison of Ballwin, Mo.; sister, Catherine and Brian Waymaster of Oxford, Mich.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
