SIOUX CITY | Dennis L. "Denny" Waldon, 79, of Sioux City, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at his residence, surrounded by his family.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Burial will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Denny was born on Aug. 31, 1937, in Sioux City, the son of Leslie and Linniea (Miller) Waldon. Denny grew up in Sioux City, attended Sioux City schools and then served in the U.S. Navy.

On Feb. 11, 1961, Denny married Helen Thompson in Elk Point, S.D. Denny worked for Wigman Company for 40 years.

He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and playing golf.

Survivors include his wife, Helen of Sioux City; four children, Cheryl Schoenboom of Auburn, Iowa, Lynn Waldon (Marion) of Arlington, Texas, Troy Waldon (Monica) of Sioux City, and Eric Waldon (Kathleen Mann) of Sioux City; a sister-in-law, Myra Higgins (Doug) of Creston, Iowa; three grandchildren, Trynn, Kelsie and Alexander; and a great-granddaughter, Kessiney.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ronald; and three sisters, Joann, Marian and Linda.
