SIOUX CITY | Arden "Perry" Hubbs II, 71, of New Port Richey, Fla., formerly of Sioux City, died on April 1, 2017 after losing his battle from a lengthy illness.

A memorial services will be held Friday at Dobies Funeral Home, 701 E. Tarpon Avenue, in Tarpon Springs, Fla.

Perry was a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he was a helicopter pilot with the 117th Sidewinder Guns, a special ops division supporting seal units in Cambodia. Perry was awarded several medals including the Flying Cross, Bronze Star, and Purple Heart. Perry received his BS degree in Iowa and an MBA from Indiana. He also graduated from the Command and General Staff College, U.S. Army and was a professor at USF for 20 years.

He leaves behind his wife, Marty: son, Perry III; daughter, Krista; three grandchildren, Crystal Weaver, Whitney Shaw, and Chloe Hubbs; brother, Roger; and sisters, Sandy and Robin.

In lieu of flowers, please make any donations to the Florida Veterans Foundation, 400 Monroe Street, Suite 2107, Tallahassee, FL. 32399, a cause he was so proud to be involved with, helping homeless and disadvantaged veterans.
