SIOUX CITY | Randy Custer, 61, of Sioux City, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017, at his residence, following a lengthy illness.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave. Burial will be held at a later date. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Randy was born on Jan. 23, 1956, in Sioux City, to Gene and Shirley (Laddusaw) Custer. He attended West High School.

Randy married Dianna Kratz on Jan. 15, 1977, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Sioux City. Randy spent most of his life in Sioux City, with five years living in Everett, Wash. In Sioux City, he worked for the City of Sioux City and Jolly Time Popcorn. While he was in Washington, Randy owned and operated a landscaping business.

Randy held a special place in the hearts of many family members and friends, even stopping to help strangers. His life was devoted to being a father, grandfather and husband. He will be remembered in the hearts of many.

Survivors include his wife, Dianna; daughter, Christina; son, Daniel, all of Sioux City; eight grandchildren; five siblings, Patricia Ellis, Carol Junck, Gary Custer, Dennis Custer, and Terry Custer; and many nieces and nephews.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Staci; sisters, Linda and Tina; brother, Guy; and granddaughter, Raynni.

A special thank you to Sherry, his hospice nurse, and also his niece, Unique Johnson, whom he loved with all of his heart.
