SOUTH SIOUX CITY | Marian E. Doerr, 94, of Sioux City, formerly of South Sioux City, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at Bickford Cottage Assisted Living in Sioux City.

Private services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City. Online condolences may be left at www.mohrfuneralhome.com.

Marian was born on July 12, 1922, in Winside, Neb., the daughter of Clarence and Stella (Keiffer) Rew. She grew up in Sioux City and graduated from East High School. Marian worked at Toy National Bank and Green Acres Care Center.

She married John W. Doerr on Sept. 9, 1946. They were married for 55 years, before he passed away on Oct. 20, 2001. Marian's greatest joy was spending time with friends and family and spoiling her grandchildren.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in South Sioux City.

She is survived by children, Jane (Gary) Bales of Cape Coral, Fla., Dick Doerr of San Antonio, Texas, Steve (Karen) Doerr of Chicago, Ill., and Mary (Jim) Bristol of Mountain View, Calif.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Barbara Hegarty of Monrovia, Calif.; and special family friend, Ginger Gill of Sioux City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Stella Rew; her husband, John Doerr; and a sister, Betty Church.
