SIOUX CITY | Ricky Scott, 58, of Sioux City, passed away Friday, Feb. 10, 2017, at a local nursing home.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, where visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be given at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Ricky Dean, son of Richard and Helen (Schumacher) Scott, was born Jan. 9, 1959, in Sioux City. He grew up in Sioux City and attended school at St. Joseph’s and West High.

Ricky then worked various outdoor jobs. He mostly worked as a landscaper and then for the Parks and Rec Department for the city of Sioux City. For the last several years, he was employed by a styrofoam manufacturer in Ames, Iowa.

Ricky had a good sense of humor and enjoyed listening to 70s and 80s music, eating pizza, and spending time with his friends and family.

Survivors include his mother, Helen Scott; aunts and uncles, Larry and Donna Schumacher, Velma Ludwig, Corene and Joe Pritchett and Marge Schumacher; and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents; and aunts and uncles, Donna and Bob Lewis, Chuck Schumacher, Harley Schumacher, Dick Ludwig, and Orville and Shirley Schumacher.
