29 March 2017SOUTH SIOUX CITY | Shirley M. Oehlerking, 85, of South Sioux City, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home, with the Rev. Douglas Dill officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with the family present at 6 p.m., at the funeral home.
Shirley Mary Andersen was born on July 1, 1931, in Dixon County, Laurel, Neb., the daughter of Pete and Gerda V. (Jensen) Andersen. She graduated from Laurel High School in 1949. She received her L.P.N. certificate from Western Iowa Ttech Community College.
She married Richard Oehlerking in 1955. They later divorced.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a son, Scott R. and his wife, Kim Oehlerking of Sioux Falls, S.D.; two daughters, Candace Davies and fiance, Tom McConnell of Rapid City, S.D., and Brenda Oehlerking and son-in-law, Gordie Sitzman of South Sioux City; and six grandchildren, Alexa Davies, Cullen Davies, Drew Oehlerking, Alec Oehlerking, Avery Sitzman and Addie Sitzman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Vivian Harrington and Ruby Andersen.
Pallbearers will be Cullen Davies, Drew Oehlerking, Alec Oehlerking, Tom Connell, Kirk Franco, and Gordie Sitzman.
