SIOUX CITY | Wallace H. "Bud" Rasmussen, 82, of Phoenix, Ariz., formerly of Sioux City, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017, at a Hospice facility in Chandler, Ariz., surrounded by his family.

Funeral services and Masonic Lodge services will be 7 p.m. Thursday, March 16, at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City. A private family entombment will be Friday, March 17, in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation, with the family present, will begin at 5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Bud graduated from Leeds High School in 1953. He married Joyce (Olsen) on Feb. 27, 1954. He was the President of Midwest Products in Sioux City. After moving to Phoenix, he was in security at St. Joe's Hospital.

The love of his life was his wife of 63 years. Bud loved and enjoyed his family and friends. He loved hunting and fishing and camping in his early years. Bud was active in Boy Scouts. He was an Eagle Scout who later became a scout master. He was with the Shrine Provost Marshall Unit.

Bud is survived by his wife, Joyce; children, Bill (Marilyn) Rasmussen of Sioux City, Don (Kristi) Rasmussen of Dickinson, N.D., Lisa (Mark) Beadles of Phoenix, and Rick (Kim) Rasmussen of Sioux City; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Sophie Rasmussen; and a brother, Bob.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a Hospice organization.
