SIOUX CITY | Mary K. McGuire, 81, of Marion, Iowa, formerly of Sioux City, passed from this life Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017, at Emery Place in Robins, Iowa.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion. Burial will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Calvary Cemetery in Sioux City. Visitation will be 3 to 6 p.m. today at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Marion. The family will also greet friends Thursday evening at Mike's Saloon on Hamilton Boulevard in Sioux City. Mary was born June 11, 1935, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of William and Violet (Cardine) Brennan.

On Dec. 29, 1956, she married Cleo McGuire.

Mary was employed as a registered nurse with Marian Health Center (formerly St. Vincent Hospital) in Sioux City, until she retired in 1997.

Mary was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion. She was a member of P.E.O. Chapter K.J., where she served as president.

Mary was all about love and serving God, bringing whatever light she could bring to brighten someone's day. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her children, Dr. Chuck (Nancy) McGuire of Wichita, Kan., Kathy (Craig Burkhart) McGuire of Woodside, Calif., Bill (Terri) McGuire of Sammamish, Wash., and Colleen (Mark) Daniels of Robins; grandchildren, Michael McGuire, Ann McGuire, Lisa (J.J.) Croteau, Michelle McGuire, Zachary Daniels and Caitlynn Daniels; and a great-grandson, James Croteau.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cleo; and brother, William Brennan.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion or the Carmelite Nuns in Sioux City.
