SIOUX CITY | Joseph C Giorgenti, 78, of Sioux City, passed away Feb. 10, 2017, at his residence surrounded by his family.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave, with Rev. Merrill Muller officiating. Burial will follow the service in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, with family present 6 to 8 p.m., and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Joseph C. Giorgenti was born July 28, 1938, in North Adams, Mass., the son of Joseph and Katherine (Mongono) Giorgenti. Joe was E9 Chief Master Sergeant retired Air Force. He was in the military for 41 years and served in Vietnam.

He married Marbethe (Huie) Giorgenti on Oct. 27 1957. They were married for 54 years and had three children together.

Joe achieved many accomplishments throughout his life. He obtained his pilot’s license to later become a flight and instrument instructor. He also taught classes at WITTC. Joe served on the Board of Creditors at Sioux Valley Community Credit Union for nine years. Joe was also number one in Top Gun competitions. He received Senior N.C.O. of the year 1992, 185th Tactual Fighter Wing. He was also Senior Maintenance Superintendent. As a younger man, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Joe lived a long full life and was loved by many.

He is survived by his children and their families, Robert (Tuesday) Giorgenti, Elizabeth Giorgenti, and Anthony Sr. (Stacy) Giorgenti; a special friend. Roberta Weidert; 13 grandchildren; 19 great- grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; his two sisters, Betty and Carole; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marbethe Giorgenti; and his parents.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Giorgenti Jr., Ben Campbell, Dalton Giorgenti, Aimee Giorgenti, Cody Giorgenti, and Deven Giorgenti. Honorary pallbearers will be his children.
