SIOUX CITY | Cheryl (Blackmore) Kinzie, 59, of Sioux City, went peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017, at a Sioux City hospital.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rexwinkel-Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars. The Rev. Burt Burwell will officiate. Visitation with the family present will be 1 p.m. until service time on Tuesday and following the service during a time of fellowship, all at the funeral home. Cheryl Ann Blackmore was born Jan. 28, 1958, in Sioux City, the daughter of Orville and Viola (Bennett) Blackmore. She attended grade school in Merrill, Iowa, and later high school in Le Mars, where she graduated from Le Mars Community High School. After growing up in Merrill, she lived in Sioux City.

Her son, Chad was born on Jan. 8, 1984, and she spent her life raising him. She met and then married the love of her life, Rick Kinzie on Aug. 28, 1999. They enjoyed their life together. Rick spent the last two years caring for her during illness, often staying weeks at the University of Nebraska Hospital in Omaha.

Cheryl enjoyed her grandchildren, playing bingo, shopping and taking vacations, collecting “Precious Moments” figurines, and traveling. She was a former member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Merrill.

She is survived by her husband, Rick of Sioux City; her son, Chad (Crystal) Blackmore of Merrill, and their sons, Michael and Mason; her parents, Orville and Viola Blackmore of Merrill; her sister, Debra (Kenneth) Daugherty of Sioux City; her brother, Douglas Blackmore of Le Mars; her mother-in-law, Donna Kinzie of Sioux City; her in-laws, Marilyn (Jason) Kline, Alan Kinzie, and Arlene (John) Roethler, all of Sioux City; four nephews, Chris, Nick, Brad and Brian Daugherty; and several aunts, uncles, great nieces, and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by an infant brother, Michael Blackmore; paternal grandparents, Walter and Hedvig Blackmore; and maternal grandparents, Louis and Violet Bennett.
