Bernetta Mae Lenig, 75, of Sioux City died Saturday, March 7, 1998, at Indian Hills Care Center.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Berkemier Funeral Home, with the Rev. Merrill Muller of Riverside United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, with the family present from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Lenig was born May 27, 1922 in Watonga, Okla., the daughter of Aaron and Cordie (Hughes) McClure. She moved with her family to Lyons, Nebr. as a child.

She married Harvey Lenig on March 6, 1942, in Pender, Nebr. The couple made their home in Sioux City. He died October 2, 1986.

She was employed at Safeway Grocery for many years and then as a switchboard operator at St. Vincent Hospital for many years.

She was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include two sons and their wives, David and Marilyn of Sioux City and Harold and Judy of Rancho Dominquez, California, a daughter, Karen Dimmick of Omaha, Nebr., a brother and his wife, Harry “Spike” and Anna McClure of Sioux City; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Eulila McClure, Ellen Luce and Rachel Kinney.
