Edna Pauline Bancroft, 94, of Sioux City died Sunday, Sept. 18, 2005, at Indian Hills Nursing and Rehab Center.

Services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Paul Johnston officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a Order of the Eastern Star Rose Croix Chapter service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Mrs. Bancroft was born June 23, 1911, in Rodney, Iowa, the daughter of Laura and Soren Peter Jensen.

She married Mark William Bancroft on Oct. 10, 1942, in Sioux City. Mark preceded her in death on May 2, 2002, in Sioux City. She was a legal assistant with the Mark W. Bancroft Law Office in Marcus, Iowa until her retirement.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a past Matron of the former Marcus Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She also was a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star Rose Croix Chapter in Sioux City and a 60-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary F.I. Goodburn Unit 517. She also was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Peck of Sioux City and J. Gail Bancroft and her husband, Kenneth Socha of Bethesda, Md.; a granddaughter, Laura Peck of Sioux City; and two great-granddaughters, Ashley and Emily Peck, both of Sioux City.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Arthur, Christian, Einar and Bruce Jensen; and four sisters, Katherine Rudbeck, Anna Nickolisen, Jennie Jensen and Ellen Rogers.

Pallbearers will be William Amick, Dennis Janson, Norman Jensen, Jane Olson, Elsie Slater and Ken Socha.
