SIOUX CITY | Mark Alan Stansberry, 60, lifelong resident of Sioux City, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2017, of natural causes, surrounded by friends and family.

Services will be 4 p.m. Saturday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. All are welcome to attend and share memories of this unforgettable man. Condolences may be expressed at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Mark was born July 5, 1956, to Francis and Elaine Stansberry. He grew up in South Sioux City, Neb., and Hinton, Iowa. He graduated in 1974 from Hinton High School. Soon after, he attended barber school, a profession he would keep for the rest of his life.

Mark was known for his big personality and caring heart. He was one of few people who continued making new and close friends throughout his entire life. He will be remembered by many for his lovingness, humor and insight.

He loved to play golf, visit Las Vegas, and spend time with his family and friends. He was a loving and compassionate father to his two sons, and a caring and thoughtful person to everyone in his life.

Survivors include his two sons, Conner and Bryce Stansberry, and their mother Nancy; sister, Toni Archibald, and her two sons Chris and Shane; many cousins whom he loved dearly; countless friends who were like family; and his fuzzy Pomeranian companion, Sonic.

He was preceded in death by parents, Francis and Elaine Stansberry; sister, Connie Wilde; and brother, Dennis Wilde.
