SIOUX CITY | Shirley J. Warden, 89, of Sioux City, passed away peacefully Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017, at a local care center.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, with the Rev. Michael Cronin officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences may be given at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Shirley was born Dec. 9, 1927, in Sioux City, the daughter of George and Gladys Goodman. She married Donald J. Warden on Aug. 1, 1953, in Sioux City, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 10, 2010.

Shirley was an active member of St. Boniface Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo, but most of all. she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Shirley was truly a kind and beautiful woman whose greatest passion was caring for others. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her children, Steve and wife, Sue Warden of Sioux City, Lynn and husband, Kirk Peterson of Sioux City, Lisa and husband, Steve McLaughlin of Edmond, Okla., and Jeff and wife, Shanna Warden of Lawton, Iowa; eight grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; a brother; and a sister.

Pallbearers are Steve Warden, Kirk Peterson, Troy Peterson, Benn Peterson, Steve McLaughlin and Jeff Warden. Honorary pallbearers are John Smith, Gale Edward Smith and Mark McLaughlin.
