SIOUX CITY | Betty D. (Jewell) Stewart, 90, of Sioux City died Sunday, Sept. 6, 2015, at a local care facility following an extended illness.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Tess Panamarow officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Betty was born in Sioux City, the daughter of Carl J. and Pearl (Clouse) Roman. She graduated from Central High School in 1943. Betty worked her whole career at various local physicians' offices.

Betty was married to Charles Jewell. They raised two daughters, Cathy and Marcia. Charles died in 1989. She married James Stewart in 1995. He died in 2007.

Betty was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She was a founding member of Epsilon Chapter of Business Women's Sorority and a former member of Tri-T. As an avid golfer, Betty scored her first and only hole in one at age 75 in Florida. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and spending time with her family and friends. Betty also loved playing cards.

Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Cathy and Doug Aden of Omaha, and Marcia and Darrel Becker of Jefferson, S.D.; three grandchildren, Sara (Kevin) Cory of Omaha, Rebecca (Chad) Grev of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Shane Sweeney of Portland, Ore.; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Berneeta (Charles) Kirby of Sioux City; two sisters-in-law, Rosemary Roman of Sioux City, and Earlis (Gary) Koch of Rockwall, Texas; four stepsons and their families, Bill (Gloria) Stewart of Sioux City, Scott (Judy) Stewart of Omaha, Mark (Phyllis) Stewart of Tucson, Ariz., and Jim Stewart of St. Louis, Mo.; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; a sister, Beverly Bolks; and a brother, Clair Roman.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
