SIOUX CITY | Ruby Eleanor Anna Pippett, 92, of Sioux City, died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2017, at a Sioux City care facility.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Morningside Lutheran Church, 700 So. Martha St., in Sioux City, with the Rev. Darrin Vick officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, New Berlin, Wis. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church. Ruby was born on May 24, 1924, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Albert and Elvira J. (Johnson) Anderson. Shew grew up in the Milwaukee area and graduated from Solomon Juneau High School in 1942.

Ruby married William E. Damske on Feb. 16, 1946 in Milwaukee. While William served in the U.S. Air Force, she worked at a local bank until 1952 when they moved to Guam, where she became a stay at home mom. The couple later moved to Louisiana, Minneapolis, Sioux City, Jacksonville, Fla., Hawaii, Austin, Texas, and finally back to Sioux City in 1967 when William retired from the US Air Force. Ruby later went to work as the church secretary at Morningside Lutheran Church. William died on Oct. 3, 1980. Ruby later married Lloyd A. Pippett on Oct 11, 2003 at Morningside Lutheran Church.

She was an active member at Morningside Lutheran Church, where she belonging to Esther Circle and served on the library committee as well as volunteering her time for many other activities at church. She was a former member of the Red Hat Society.

Surviving are her husband, Lloyd A. Pippett of Sioux City; son, Thomas Damske and his wife, Charlotte of McDonough, Ga.; grandson, Michael Thomas Damske of Ames, Iowa; three stepsons, Craig Pippett of Ankeny, Iowa, Denny Pippett of Blue Springs, Mo., and Clarence Pippett of Kingwood, Texas.

Preceding her in death was her first husband, William Damske; a daughter, Sue Ann Damske; and two sisters, Dorothy Staver and Betty Marjenka.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial be directed to Morningside Lutheran Church for either the library fund or the endowment fund.
