SIOUX CITY | David McFarlin, 65, of Sioux City, passed away Friday, Oct. 28, 2016, at his residence.

David has been cremated, and a celebration of life service will take place in the spring. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Berger Chapel. Online condolences may be sent online at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

David was born Feb. 19, 1951, in Derry, N.H. He was the son of Lloyd J. and Elizabeth A. (Frayne) McFarlin. David grew up in New Hampshire, where he worked with his dad and brothers in a siding company.

On Jan. 2, 1971, he married Laurel E. Whitney. Together they raised four children. They moved to Sioux City in 1976. David worked for Siouxland Taxi.

Survivors include his wife, Laurel; four children, David (Mindi) McFarlin of Sioux City, John (Jen) McFarlin of Albuquerque, N.M., Cindy Koskey of Fargo, N.D., and Bobbie (Tracy Ehlers) McFarlin of Sioux City; two brothers, Jack McFarlin and Tom McFarlin, both of New Hampshire; two sisters, Carol (George) Cox and Kathy Wagner, both of New Hampshire; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild, and another one on the way; mother-in-law, Jerri Whitney of Maine; brother-in-law, Tom Whitney of Maine; two sisters-in-law, Melodie Deboer and Ardis Pojar of Maine; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, David; nephew, Scott; and father-in-law, Ronald Whitney.
