30 October 2016SIOUX CITY | Clem H. Hurley Jr., 71, of Overland Park, Kan., formerly of Sioux City, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016, in Kansas City, after a brief illness.
Graveside services will be noon Wednesday in Memorial Park Cemetery at Sioux City. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel in Sioux City. Clem was born Nov. 18, 1944, in Sioux City. He was the son of Clement H and Dorothy (Tuttle) Hurley Sr. His father passed away in July of 1944. Dorothy later married William Gill, and together they raised Clem and his siblings.
Clem grew up in Sioux City and graduated from Heelan High School in 1963. He then attended the University of Nebraska. Clem was a good athlete and he participated in football and basketball at Heelan. Clem was also an avid tennis player.
Clem was in the car business and owned and operated the Friendly Ford Dealership. He also had owned the Cimmarina.
Survivors include his children, Jennifer Hurley Beam of Topeka, Kan., Kevin Hurley of Jefferson, S.D., Alison Grey and her husband, Reggie of Topeka, Kan., and Aaron Hurley and his wife, Monique of Las Vegas, Nev.; his mother, Dorothy Gill of Overland Park; his sister, Frances Hurley Doherty (Tom) of Leawood, Kan.; and his brother, Edward Wellenstein (Debbie) of Overland Park. Clem is also survived by 11 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
