SIOUX CITY | Donald Doerr, 92, of Sioux City, formerly of Sun City West, Ariz., died Monday, Nov. 21, 2016, at a Sioux City hospital.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Sioux City. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Online condolences may be given at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Don was born in Lincoln, Neb., to Julius and Katherine Doerr. During World War II, Don served in the U.S. Army in Okinawa with the 796th Ordinance Battalion and during the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Harriet Eyden Doerr; his children, Kurt Doer and wife, Cynthia of Colorado, and Karen Gebhardt and husband, Joel of Sioux City; his three grandchildren, Gregory Doerr, Elizabeth Doerr and Britt (Kasey) Farrell; two great-grandchildren (with one due in May); and his brother, Howard of Colorado.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Bob.

The family wishes any memorials be sent to Redeemer Lutheran Church or Crown of Life Lutheran Church in Sun City West or an alternate choice.
