Lottie C. Holdowsky, 91, of Sioux City died Monday, May 20, 2002, at Indian Hills Nursing and Rehab Center following a lengthy illness.

Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. today in Independent Farane Cemetery, with Rabbi Yossi Zylberberg of Congregation Beth Shalom officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel.

Mrs. Holdowsky was born April 18, 1911, in Jersey City, N.J., to Harry and Bessie (Urovisky) Feinberg. She was a graduate of National Business School in Sioux City.

She married Max Holdowsky on Oct. 9, 1938, in Jefferson, S.D., and they became Sioux City residents. She was a bookkeeper for Galinsky Fruit Market and also, along with her husband, owned and operated Normax Variety Store in South Sioux City for 25 years. Mr. Holdowsky died Nov. 6, 1999, in Sioux City.

She was a member of Congregation Beth Shalom and a former member of Share Zion Synagogue. She also was a member of Hasassah.

She is survived by two daughters, Shari Yetter of Iowa City, Iowa, and Dianne Maxwell of Coralville, Iowa; and two granddaughters, Sara Yetter and Leslie Yetter.

She also was preceded in death by a sister, Henrietta "Yetta" Mendlowitz.

Memorials in her name may be directed to Congregation Beth Shalom or Hospice of Siouxland.
