SIOUX CITY | Janice E. White, 68, of Sioux City passed away Friday, Aug. 5, 2016, at a Sioux City hospital.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.

Janice was born on Nov. 26, 1941, in Henderson, N.C., to Charlie and Grace (Stewart) Jackson. She graduated from Brockton High School in Brockton Mass., Boston College, Massasoit Community College, and Western Iowa Tech Community College.

Janice married James White on Oct. 12, 1976, in Miami Beach Fla. She worked at Mercy Medical Center, St. Luke's Regional Medical Center, Hallmark Care, Matney Nursing Home and as a traveling nurse until she retired due to health reasons in 2004.

Janice loved bingo, bowling, collecting dolls, knitting, needle point, latch hook rugs, singing, painting, sculpting, traveling and being an aunt.

Survivors include her husband, James White of Sioux City; sister, Dorothy (Michael) Lonergan of Bridgewater, Mass.; brother, Martin (Susan) Jackson of Dudley, N.C.; and sisters-in-law, Karen Jackson of Top Sail Island, N.C., and Patricia White of Sioux City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Warren and Johnnie Jackson.
