Marcia (Mahon) Redding, 47, of Phoenix, Ariz., formerly of Sioux City, died Thursday, May 16, 2002, following a year-long illness.

Services will be Monday morning at Corpus Christi Church in Phoenix. There will be a rosary Sunday evening at Valley of the Sun Mortuary in Phoenix.

Mrs. Redding was born Sept. 21, 1954, to John and Ethel (O'Connor) Mahon. She graduated from Bishop Heelan High School in 1972, and St. Vincent School of Radiology in 1974. She worked the past nine years as an X-ray technician for Signa Health in Phoenix, and previously in Sioux City at Midtown Medical Clinic. She also worked at Dr. Dougherty's office in Sioux City.

She was the cherished wife of Charles Redding for 27 years, married April 4, 1975. There were seven children born to this union, Matt Redding and his wife, Amber of Tucson, Ariz., Lori and her husband, Brian Millsap of Phoenix, C.J. (deceased), and Danny, Shannon, Christopher and Patrick Redding, all at home; and two granddaughters, Taylor and Bailey Redding of Tucson. Marcia has four sisters, Mary Ann Mahon of Sioux City, Patty and her husband, Ron Graham of Elkhorn, Neb., Rita and her husband, Mark Chicoine of Sioux City, and Janet and her husband, Rex Bonnes of Sioux City; and three brothers and their wives, Dr. John and Melanie Mahon of Lenexa, Kan., Tom and Peggy Mahon of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Vincent and Darlakae Mahon of Dakota City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law, Charles Redding Sr.; and her infant son, C.J. Redding IV.
