SIOUX CITY | Larry J. Wilson, 68, of Sioux City, passed away peacefully at home Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016, after a lengthy illness.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Morningside Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Paul Andell officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 8 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Larry was born on March 29, 1948, in Sioux City, the son of Ray and Marcella (Calhoun) Wilson. He graduated from Central High School in 1967.

He married Mary J. Dickinson on Sept. 1, 1972, in Sioux City. Larry worked various places throughout his life in building maintenance. He worked many years as an usher at Tyson Events Center and the Orpheum Theatre.

Mr. Wilson was a member of Morningside Lutheran Church. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Larry enjoyed camping, going to the races and attending Musketeers hockey games.

Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife, Mary; son, Bradley Wilson of Sioux City; daughters, Laura DeWall and her husband, Tony DeWall of Sioux City, and Melissa Mansfield of Van Meter, Iowa; grandchildren, Stephanie DeWall, Nathan DeWall, Brenna and Daniel Mansfield; great-grandchildren, Sierrah, Dominic, Mariah and Aliyah DeWall; sisters, Betty Blake and her husband, Jim, and Judy Dunbar and her husband, Rick; along with many nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents.
